چکیده مقاله:

Congestion is one of the main issues in data envelopment analyses which have particular importance. Recently researches about congestion, whether in economic articles or in Operations Research articles in had grown increasingly. Congestion is a wasteful stage of the production process where outputs are reduced due to excessive amount of inputs. In economics, congestion is very important because elimination of it results in decrease in costs as well as increase in outputs. Therefore the benefits of recognition of density and decreasing of it are high. In this paper, we will be introduced a method for definition and calculation of congestion degree under weak disposability of desirable and undesirable outputs in a Two-phase Network. And we will present a model for definition and calculation of congestion value considering desirable and undesirable final outputs.

Efficiency Measurement in Two-Stage Network Structures Considering Undesirable Outputs

Since data envelopment analysis (DEA) introduced in 1970s, it has been widely applied to measure the efficiency of a wide variety of production and operation systems. Recently DEA has been extended to examine the efficiency of decision making units (DMUs) with two-stage network structures or processes, where the outputs from the first stage are intermediate measures that make up the inputs of t...

Weak Disposability in Nonparametric Production Analysis with Undesirable Outputs

Weak disposability of outputs means that firms can abate harmful emissions by decreasing the activity level. Modeling weak disposability in nonparametric production analysis has caused some confusion. This paper identifies a dilemma in these approaches: conventional formulations implicitly and unintentionally assume all firms apply uniform abatement factors. However, it is usually cost efficien...

Weak Disposability in Integer-Valued Data Envelopment Analysis

Conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) models normally assume all inputs and outputs are real valued and continuous. However in problems some inputs and outputs can only take integer values, also, both desirable and undesirable outputs can be generated . In this paper the effect of undesirable outputs in integer DEA model is discussed. The proposed model distinguishes weak disposability o...

Cost Efficiency Evaluation via Data Envelopment Analysis Approach for Undesirable Outputs based on the Weak Disposability Axiom (Case Study: 56 Electricity Producing Thermal Power Plants in Iran)

Cost efficiency evaluation is a very important and applicable issue in Data Envelopment ‎Analysis (DEA). In this paper, the classical cost efficiency model in which all the input ‎prices are known and fixed for each decision making unit is developed via undesirable ‎outputs with the weak disposability axiom. The proposed model is a nonlinear model ‎under the variable returns to scale condition,...
